Artists-in-Residence program aims to contribute to creative development in many different fields of art through providing social and cultural platform for work.
The Jelení Studio Program operates all year round and enables a wide range of artists and arts scholars to work independently on individual projects in the historical center of Prague. Artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply and are encouraged to develop cooperative projects with local artists and arts institutions as part of their residency project.
Inspiration, new ideas and development of cultural and human relations in general are born out of meetings, creative dialogues and collaborations between artists, scientists, researchers, scholars etc. Both Czech and international artists are invited for periods ranging from six weeks to two months, to pursue both their individual projects as well as to search for contacts and inspiration or simply get acquainted with a different cultural environment. Informal meetings, specific events and smaller, often improvised collaborative events, immerse artists from abroad in the Czech cultural scene. Participants in the program often find the connections they have made, and the personal experience that have resulted from them, to be the basis of future work.
