
Foundation for Contemporary Arts Prague
The aim of FCA Prague is to support contemporary visual arts as the integral constituent of a harmonious development of civil society that enables our self-reflection. Foundation program helps artists create artwork that is free of ideological and commercial pressure and also aims to strengthen the role of visual art in society. Funding for artists and FCA Prague strategy are therefore guided by these key criteria: high quality and social impact of the artwork.

Grants
The Grants Program for contemporary art has not only been one of the main programs of the SCCA-Prague but, according to many, also one of its most important contributions; achieving a significant and widespread impact on the development of contemporary arts in our society. The Grants Program has supported independent creative activities of individual artists, rewarding outstanding artistic initiatives in the form of financial grants, which enabled the winners to bring their creative ideas to life.

Collection
In 1998, the Foundation started a collection of Czech contemporary art composed of works donated by some of the Czech Republic's most prominent artists, as part of its capital endowment plan. The initial collection was first presented to the public in an exhibition at the Vaclav Spala Gallery in Prague in early 1999 under the patronage President Vaclav Havel.
